People often use the terms health and wellness interchangeably, but the terms do have different meanings. The primary difference between health and wellness is that health is the goal, and wellness is the active process of achieving it.

It does not view dieting, energy restriction, being told what to eat or when to eat, following rules or placing judgement on food choices. The goal is to eliminate dieting practices and replace them with a holistic approach. The Non-Diet approach embraces emotional and physical health. The Approach focuses on improving health and behaviours that affect our overall health, fitness and wellbeing. We learn to enhance the skills that respond to internal eating cues, develop self-care and have a non-judgemental attitude towards ourselves and food.
Most of the attitudes we face around exercise are pretty harsh. Think of the go hard or go home mentality. Think of the television programs that showcase weight loss at any cost and how the trainers push people beyond their limits of physical endurance. Exercise is challenging, something we must endure to reach the end goal of weight loss. It is as enjoyable as the teaching with the feather duster trying to get you to jump over the horse!
People exercise for different reasons, but many of us exercise to stay fit and to prevent severe health conditions such as heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and stroke.

Exercise improves cognitive functioning, mental health, and memory; it also hinders the development of certain neurological conditions.
Whenever we restrict ourselves, keep foods off-limits and out of the house, or look at certain foods as “good” or “bad”, we end up going overboard or have a hard time saying no whenever we are confronted with these foods. Restriction and deprivation breed guilt, which eventually leads to overeating or binging. Whenever you limit the amount or type of food you eat, you’re setting yourself up to overeat in the future. This is why one of the main principles of intuitive eating is to make peace with food.
We all know that drinking plenty of water daily is essential for good health. We know Australian tap water is one of the best in the world. We are very lucky to be able to go to our taps and have a glass of water, that we can drink water without adding anything to it or boiling it, or without it giving us a serious waterborne disease
